Bindu Balakrishnan

Founder & CEO

Bindu has volunteered in not-for-profit organizations for the past 15 years. She is passionate about education and nutrition, the primary reason that propelled her to start Every Child Counts. What started initially as a small “homegrown initiative” has now blossomed into a multi-pronged non-profit supporting school in Africa and the US. Her last experience in the talent acquisition business and her broad volunteering experience spanning several years has channeled into the identification, selection, and execution of our programs and schools.

Bhuvana Krishnan

Director

Bhuvana has a 25+ years of broad professional background in various industries encompassing technology, healthcare, insurance, and consulting with a focus on startups and early-stage entities.  She excels in strategy, analytics and  is highly focused on operational execution and excellence.  Being passionate about health, wellness, and education she has focused on raising awareness in her community of living a balanced healthy life through the practice of Qigong and meditation. Bhuvana has volunteered in not-for-profit organizations for more than a decade in different roles ranging from administration, operations, education, mentoring and fundraising.

Aleena Bashir

Director

Aleena Bashir is a multidisciplinary creative who just graduated from SCAD with a BFA in Acting and a minor in Graphic Design. She is passionate about social activism and loves collaborating with others, a fondness that came from her international upbringing. With her design experience and education, her focus within Every Child Counts is the development of the web presence, as well as social media management.

Regenia Sanders

Ambassador

Regenia Sanders is Managing Partner of EY Atlanta and has 25+ years of experience leading business and supply chain transformations for Fortune 500 and Private Equity clients, primarily in the automotive and industrial sectors. She has driven global programs in sourcing, planning, and operations enabled by technology for her clients. Regenia is also a thought leader and advocate for diversity, serving on multiple industry and university boards.

Sradha Khuntia

CFO & CTO

As a Director on the Board, Sradha is involved with every aspect of the Every Child Count’s activities and decisions. Her particular focus is on enhancing our web presence and organizing campaigns around our projects and activities. She is passionate about community service and uses her knowledge of technology and creative campaigning skills to bolster Every Child Counts. Community service was instilled early in her life by her father, an avid social worker in India. Sradha is an Electronics & Telecommunication Engineer and a world class innovator, creating and improving everything that comes into her realm and enhancing everything with her unique touch.

Samir Kamat

Director

Samir's career spanned across engineering, quality and banking before he came to consulting more than twelve years ago. He is currently a Partner with Ernst & Young, an avid photographer and a vocal advocate of social reform and conservation of the environment. He has extensive experience of having planned and executed several social projects for more than a decade now.

Nilotpal Roy

Ambassador

As a passionate advocate for Every Child Counts (ECC), Nilotpal serves as a proud ambassador for the organization. This role seamlessly blends with his professional life as a Partner at KPMG Financial Services where Nilotpal leads strategic transformation initiatives in data, AI and analytics for Finance, Treasury, Financial Crime and Risk Management. Nilotpal believes in the power of purpose-driven leadership and is dedicated to using his skills and influence to support ECC in expanding their social impact to new communities. He is a strong believer that business success and social responsibility go hand-in-hand.


Prior to KPMG Nilotpal was a Principal at Capgemini Financial Services. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications engineering. In his personal time Nilotpal enjoys hiking along the various scenic waterfall trails in North Georgia with his family - Ruchi, Nishchit and Hobbes.

Meet the Kenya Team

Dr. Peter Kamau

Chairman, KMAP

Peter holds a PhD in Geography and Anthropology from Louisiana State University (USA). Peter is currently a Lecturer of Geography and Environmental Studies at Karatina University in Kenya. He worked with Kenya Wildlife Service as a warden in Kenya's national parks for ten years and has conducted research on elephants and forests for over eight years. Peter also works with local communities in Kenya on various issues ranging from education, conservation to social development. Owing to his own life experiences, Peter believes that education is the best tool for transforming society.

Mr. Jude ThadeusWetangula

Director - Secretary, KMAP

Jude is a public policy expert and researcher. He has a Master in Public Policy from the Korea Development Institute School of Public Policy and Management (KDI) in Seoul, Korea. He also holds a Master’s degree in International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree (Anthropology, Gender and Development) from University of Nairobi. He also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management. Jude has over 12 years’ experience in Research, community development work and humanitarian emergency affairs in child rights advocacy and programming. He much experience working with various partners and community representatives in problem identification, analysis and solutions.

Mr. Antony Mugo

Content Manager

Antony is a passionate and creative Social Media Content Manager with a sharp eye for storytelling and audience engagement. At Every Child Counts (ECC), he leads the creation and management of digital content across platforms, helping to amplify the voices of children and communities supported by the organization. With a strong background in communications and a deep commitment to social impact, Antony uses his skills to craft compelling narratives that drive awareness, inspire action, and celebrate progress in education and child welfare.

Eng./Bishop James A. Omuhaka

Advisor, KMAP

James is a graduate of The Technical University of Kenya (The Kenya Polytechnic) in electrical/electronic engineering with over 27 years’ expertise in Office Automation, ICT and Financial Equipment Technologies, with several industry professional certifications. James is the Presiding Bishop and General Overseer of Christ’s Mission Church with over 30 years ministry experience and has a Master’s degree in Theology from Midwest Seminary of Theology (USA) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from International College of Bible Theology (USA). He is the General secretary of Kitengela Bishops Council. James is passionate about mentorship and transformation in all his spheres of influence.

Mr. Sospeter Thiga

Director, KMAP

Sospeter is a graduate of The University of Nairobi with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Economics. Sospeter is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. Sospeter has over 15 years’ experience in the finance Sector currently focusing on the social security area. Sospeter is passionate about leadership, mentorship, and the environment. He is a philanthropist.
